How I protect your privacy
I keep paper copies only of your contact details, including name, address, email address, phone number, GP contact details. These are kept in a private, secure location.
If I receive your contact details or any other information about you from a third party (ie, another mental health professional who has referred you to me) by email, I print out the details and delete the email. I do not store your data electronically.
I do, however, use your name, telephone number and email address to make and rearrange appointments. Most of this will be done electronically. I am unable to send or receive encrypted texts or emails so you should be aware that any texts or emails I send or receive may not be protected in transit. I will also monitor any emails sent to me, including file attachments, for viruses or malicious software.
I do not keep electronic session notes.
I do not use your information to send you marketing material of any kind.
I destroy paper copies of any information I have about you 3 years after the end of therapy.
If you wish to discuss any of this with me, please feel free to do so.
